Veteran’s Grant 2025
This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in El Dorado County for programs and improvements that directly benefit the local veteran community.
The Veterans Grant Program is funded by El Dorado County and is intended to support operations, programming, and property improvements or repairs that benefit the veteran community. This opportunity is specifically designed to strengthen services and infrastructure for veterans within the county and is overseen by the County of El Dorado Veterans' Affairs Commission. Funding will be awarded to selected applicants no later than August 2025, with the requirement that the awarded funds be spent within one year of receipt. Grants are available in amounts up to $20,000. The program officially opened on April 7, 2025, at 12:00 AM PDT and will close on May 1, 2025, at 11:59 PM PDT. Applications must be submitted through an online Grants Management Tool which allows users to register, start, save, and return to their application as needed. Applicants must ensure that their proposals directly address veteran-related needs. Eligibility is restricted to nonprofit organizations; individuals may not apply. For programs that distribute support directly to individual veterans, applicants must ensure that the veteran recipients provide proof of service through a DD214 form, an El Dorado County Veteran ID card, or a Department of Defense ID card. Additional eligibility includes compliance with nonprofit status definitions and requirements by the IRS, the California Secretary of State, the Franchise Tax Board, and the California Department of Justice. Preference is given to organizations with established programs and those that demonstrate an ongoing commitment to securing other sources of funding, including regular grant applications or fundraising activities. Applicants must specify whether the grant funds will be spent entirely within the award year or outline any long-term utilization plans if only partial use is intended within that timeframe. Unused funds may be subject to reclamation by the commission. Applicants are encouraged to review the Veterans TOT Grant Writing “tips and tricks” and a general grant writing presentation available at the El Dorado Community Foundation website. Questions regarding the application or process can be directed to Kathy via email at kathy@eldoradocf.org.
