Keep Maryland Beautiful Grant Program-Tree Planting on Agricultural Lands
This grant provides funding to nonprofits, land trusts, and community organizations in Maryland for projects that promote tree planting on agricultural lands and enhance local environmental stewardship.

Proposed projects activate residents and encourage stewardship through education, outreach, and planting activities while increasing awareness of and working towards addressing local environmental problems. Types of Tracks The Community Stewardship These grants are available to nonprofits, schools and municipalities. Land Trust Assistance These grants are available to Maryland local land trusts. Tree Planting on Agricultural Lands Projects on individual private, commercial private, community-owned, nonprofit, and government owned property are eligible for funding. Funding Information This grant program welcomes applications for projects in the state of Maryland. Applicants can request funds from one of the following tracks. Track 1: Community Stewardship (up to $5,000) Track 2: Land Trust Assistance (up to $10,000) Track 3: Tree Planting on Agricultural Lands (up to $50,000). Grant Period Tracks 1 and 2 Projects must be completed within 12 months upon receipt of the award. Track 3: Tree Planting on Agricultural Lands Projects must be completed within 36 months upon receipt of the award. Eligibility Criteria Funding Partners and the Trust welcome requests from the following organizations in the state of Maryland: Nonprofits Land Trusts Community and Homeowners Associations Service, Youth, and Civic Groups; and/or Municipal, County, Regional, State, and Federal Public Agencies. Projects under two acres may request up to $10,000; projects over two acres may request up to $50,000. Funds must be used between March 30, 2026 and February 28, 2027. Eligible expenses include design, permitting, planting, and maintenance for survivorship targets.
