White-Reinhardt Grant Program 2025-2026
This funding opportunity provides financial support to state and county Farm Bureaus for educational programs that promote agricultural literacy among K-12 students across the United States.
The White-Reinhardt Fund for Education is a grant initiative created by the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture in collaboration with the American Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee. Named in honor of Berta White and Linda Reinhardt, former chairs of the committee and national leaders in agricultural literacy, the fund supports educational efforts aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of agriculture across the United States. The fund specifically targets programs designed to teach K-12 students about agricultural systems, encouraging the integration or expansion of such content within educational settings. This funding opportunity is specifically available to state and county Farm Bureaus. Grants of up to $1,000 are awarded on a competitive basis to initiate new agricultural literacy programs or expand existing ones into new grade levels or subject areas. Projects must align with the broader goal of building agricultural literacy and demonstrate a clear need for financial support. Funds are intended to promote educational programs rather than cover consumables, transportation, or personnel costs. Eligible applicants are limited to official Farm Bureau entities. Each county Farm Bureau may submit one application for a local project, while state Farm Bureaus are allowed to submit one statewide application in addition to any approved county applications. Applications must be submitted online and approved by the respective State Farm Bureau by the stated deadline. The application must include a narrative detailing the plan, goals, timeline, and budget. Projects will be judged on several factors, including how they enhance student engagement with agriculture, creative learning strategies, and alignment with the Pillars of Agricultural Literacy. The application process occurs once annually during the summer. For the 2025 cycle, applications are due by June 13. They will be sent to State Farm Bureaus for approval by June 17, with final approvals due by June 27. Notifications of awards will be issued around July 11, and initial grant disbursements will follow at the end of that month. Final reports and the balance of funding must be submitted by July 11, 2026. All grants are reviewed by a panel of judges based on compliance with guidelines and the strength of the proposal. Funding will not cover items that are consumed after a single use, such as paper, meals, or seeds, nor can it be used for wages, travel, or safety programs. Instead, it is intended to help build sustainable educational capacity by funding resources that can be reused in future agricultural education efforts. The grants are disbursed in two parts: half at the beginning of the project and the remainder upon successful completion and submission of a final report. For questions or additional information, interested applicants can contact the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture at 800-443-8456 or email foundation@fb.org. Their office is located at 600 Maryland Avenue SW, Suite 1000W, Washington, DC 20024.
