The Tri-City Community Foundation, established in 2018 and affiliated with The Community Foundation of South Alabama, serves the cities of Foley, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and their surrounding communities. Its competitive grantmaking cycle for 2024–2025 aims to fund nonprofits that work to enhance the quality of life and resiliency of local residents. The grants are supported by the Tri-City Community Fund, a donor-established fund focused on addressing the region’s most pressing needs.
Eligible applicants include IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofits, government entities, educational institutions, and religious organizations. Proposed activities must directly serve the Tri-City communities. Collaborative proposals—whether through joint submissions or single organizations working with others—are particularly encouraged. The foundation prioritizes programs that align with one or more of the following focus areas: Arts, Mental Health and Wellness, Education and Workforce Development, Leadership Development, and Economic Opportunity.
Applicants may seek funding for project or program support or for capacity building, such as training, equipment, or convening. The foundation emphasizes innovative, research-based, and collaborative approaches with measurable outcomes. Proposals should demonstrate strong community support, sound fiscal health, and plans for sustaining the project beyond the grant period.
A total of approximately $25,100 in grant funding is available for this cycle, with funding limited to a 12-month period. The application portal opens March 17, 2025. An optional Q&A session for interested applicants will be held on March 20, 2025, via Zoom, with registration due by March 19 at 12 p.m. The final application deadline is May 9, 2025, by 4:59 p.m. CST. All applications must be submitted electronically; paper submissions will not be accepted.
Decisions will be announced by June 27, 2025. Selected applicants must attend a grantee orientation in July 2025 (exact date TBD). Successful applicants will also be required to sign a grant agreement outlining objectives, disbursement schedules, and reporting requirements.
