Increasing Access to Child Care for Families Experiencing Homelessness
This funding opportunity provides financial support to organizations that help families experiencing homelessness access quality child care and educational programs.
The goal of this Request for Application (RFA) by the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) is to increase access to child care for families experiencing homelessness by conducting outreach and connecting families to high-quality educational programs and subsidy services. The initiative aims to raise awareness among parents or guardians about available early childhood and school-age care services, comprehensive family support, and research-based child development practices. Approximately $250,000 is available for each of the two years (2024-2025 and 2025-2026). Eligible applicants include state agencies, universities, and public and private nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status. Proposals are due by August 29, 2024.
