SCVF Valley Arts Grants
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations and educational institutions in the St. Croix Valley to support innovative arts programs that enhance community engagement and accessibility.
The Valley Arts Grant Program, a collaborative initiative led by the St. Croix Valley Foundation in partnership with the Hugh J. Andersen Foundation and the Wisconsin Arts Board, seeks to enrich the cultural life of the St. Croix Valley through the support of high-quality arts programming. Recognizing the vital role the arts play in fostering civic engagement, enhancing quality of life, and building community, the program offers funding to organizations that place the arts at the core of their mission and to non-arts organizations that demonstrate deep artistic engagement. This grant supports a broad range of artistic activities, including performances, concerts, exhibitions, residencies, workshops, and community-engaged art projects. Funding is available for both program-specific initiatives and general operating support. The program is designed to uplift organizations that deliver meaningful artistic experiences to diverse audiences across the six-county region, including Chisago and Washington counties in Minnesota, and Burnett, Polk, St. Croix, and Pierce counties in Wisconsin. Applicants must be nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status, or government, tribal, educational, or religious entities. Fiscal sponsorship arrangements are allowed, provided the sponsor meets eligibility requirements. All activities funded through this grant must take place in publicly accessible venues. Individuals and for-profit entities are not eligible, and certain expenses—such as hospitality or projects primarily serving as fundraisers—are excluded from coverage. Applications open in early December and are due by January 23, 2026. Proposals are reviewed by a public panel in February, and successful applicants must expend awarded funds within one year of receiving the grant. Awards typically range from $500 to $5,000, and while full funding is possible, applicants should anticipate the possibility of partial awards. The application process is conducted through the SCVF’s online portal, where users may save progress and submit completed proposals. Following submission, applicants may download a copy for their records. For assistance, organizations are encouraged to contact Heidi Herron, Grants & Scholarships Manager, at the St. Croix Valley Foundation.
