The Neighborhood Opportunity Grants, offered by the Healthy Lakewood Foundation, provide support for small-scale, community-based initiatives in Lakewood, Ohio. The foundation plans to share broader guidelines and reopening details for the 2026 cycle in Fall 2025. Although the current round is closed to open applications, the Foundation remains accessible to community members who wish to share ideas or express interest. Prospective applicants who have not previously received HLF funding are encouraged to reach out directly to staff for support and guidance.
The grant aims to fund meaningful local efforts that engage the community through activities, events, or programs; address one or more social determinants of health; or enhance understanding of local needs through innovative projects. The Healthy Lakewood Foundation promotes inclusivity and does not support any organization that discriminates based on age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or religious beliefs.
Grants range from $1,000 to $7,500 per year and may be used over the course of a full calendar year. For the 2025 cycle, invited applicants were able to apply between September 2 and September 26. Virtual meetings with selected applicants were held from October 6 to October 24, and awards will be announced on November 30. The Foundation remains available throughout the year for inquiries and offers support via email, especially for first-time applicants or those interested in future cycles.
