Grant Description

CSX Charitable Investments offers in-kind donations to nonprofit organizations that advocate for the betterment of military members, community first responders, and other community efforts. The in-kind donations include intermodal transportation services, where applicable organizations can receive intermodal equipment and rail service throughout the CSX rail network to reduce transportation spending. The program requires freight to have an origin and destination within a combined 250 miles' distance to a CSX intermodal facility. CSX also occasionally donates materials, supplies, and used railroad equipment based on availability. The eligibility criteria include possessing tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, being a government entity, or being a pre-K-12 school, charter school, community/junior college, or college/university. The organization must serve one or more of the specified locations, which include various states in the US and provinces in Canada. Ineligibility includes organizations outside of CSX's service network, religious organizations not registered with the IRS, discriminatory organizations, political candidates or lobbying organizations, limited constituency organizations/clubs, individuals, conferences, travel, anti-business groups, and controversial organizations.
