DUI MAT Integration/Outreach Project
This grant provides funding to licensed DUI programs in California to integrate Medication-Assisted Treatment for individuals with opioid use disorders, prioritizing those who have not previously received similar support.
The Driving Under the Influence, Medication-Assisted Treatment Integration/Outreach Project (DUI MAT) is a grant program funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). The program, part of the State Opioid Response IV (SOR 4) initiative, aims to enhance the integration of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) into licensed DUI programs to address opioid use disorders effectively. The project is open to all licensed California DUI programs, with priority given to applicants who have not previously participated in SOR grants to ensure broader equity and inclusivity. The application period begins with the release of the Request for Applications (RFA) on January 8, 2025, and closes on February 7, 2025, at 11:59 pm. An informational webinar is scheduled for January 8, 2025, to assist applicants. Subcontract awards will be announced on March 7, 2025, and selected projects will officially begin on April 1, 2025, running until September 29, 2027. Applicants must compile their submissions according to specific guidelines. Required documents include a cover page, statement of interest, organizational chart, plan of operations, staffing budget, budget, and a budget narrative. The application package should total 9-12 pages and be submitted as a single PDF file via the designated application portal. The provided file naming convention, templates, and detailed RFA documents help streamline the application process. Support materials, including templates for staffing and budgets, a budget narrative example, and an RFA package, are available for download to guide applicants. Informational resources such as best practices for DUI programs, allowable costs fact sheets, and previous project reports are also provided to strengthen applications. The selection process focuses on applicants’ ability to integrate MAT into DUI treatment effectively, with an emphasis on addressing the opioid crisis. Successful applicants will work under a clearly defined scope of work, aligning with federal and California state regulations such as 45 CFR section 75.361 and 2 CFR 200, which govern records and funding. Applicants needing additional support can contact the program via email at info@caduimat.com. The DUI MAT project represents a significant opportunity for DUI programs to contribute to reducing opioid-related harms through integrated treatment approaches.
