The Community Foundation of Central Blue Ridge's 2025 Community Grants Program offers funding to nonprofit organizations that serve Staunton, Waynesboro, and the counties of Augusta, Highland, and Nelson in Virginia. This program is open to 501(c)(3) organizations or those operating under the fiscal sponsorship of a 501(c)(3). The foundation prioritizes proposals that address community needs and opportunities through well-conceived, resource-efficient programs with realistic timelines.
The program does not fund deficit reduction or endowments. Sponsorship requests for short-term events (up to one week) require a separate process and are managed by the foundation’s CEO. Applications open on December 2, 2024, and must be submitted by February 3, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Nonprofit organizations selected for funding will be notified by early May 2025, with an awards ceremony planned for early June 2025.
Foundation staff provide support for applicants, including weekly open Zoom sessions in January to answer questions about the grant process. Nonprofits are encouraged to contact the foundation’s Director of Nonprofit Relations, Lora Hamp, for assistance or to schedule a meeting.
