Grant Description

The Stockton Blvd Plan Action Grant Program, a collaboration between the City of Sacramento’s Neighborhood Development Action Team (NDAT) and the Office of Arts and Culture (OAC), offers targeted investment to community-led initiatives that reflect the vision and strategic goals of the Stockton Boulevard Plan (SBP). The program aligns with broader municipal efforts to uplift the social, economic, and cultural vibrancy of Stockton Boulevard and its surrounding neighborhoods, and supports residents, leaders, and organizations rooted in the area. This grant opportunity is centered around six key thematic priorities identified by the community: Land Use; Housing; Culture, Arts, and Community Character; Inclusive Economic Development; Environment, Public Health, and Safety; and Community Engagement and Capacity Building. These areas serve as the foundation for funding decisions and project alignment. Notably, at least $100,000 of the total $200,000 in available grant funds must support initiatives that incorporate arts and culture, consistent with the Creative Edge Plan—Sacramento’s strategic plan for arts, culture, and the creative economy. Eligible applicants are expected to demonstrate a deep connection to the study area, either through residence, lived experience, organizational leadership, or community engagement. Ideal candidates will show collaboration with others, particularly those representing community-based organizations, neighborhood associations, or business groups within the corridor. Arts and culture applicants must additionally identify which Creative Edge Plan goals their project will support. The grant offers funding ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 per project. Proposals must include a detailed work plan outlining the responsible parties, timeline, project milestones, impacted populations or locations, and a clearly itemized budget. All activities must demonstrate a tangible benefit to the community and be executable within a 12-month timeframe. Proposed actions must connect to both the SBP and, where applicable, the Creative Edge Plan. Applications will be accepted through December 5, 2025, with a review cycle occurring immediately afterward from December 6, 2025, to January 6, 2026. The funders prioritize projects that deliver measurable impact within one year. Recurrence is implied, with future review cycles likely to follow a similar annual cadence, pending available funding and program continuation. For inquiries or assistance—including translation, accessibility support, or application help—interested applicants are encouraged to contact NDAT at [email protected] or by phone at 916-808-7223. Applicants may also refer to the full NOFO and related planning documents for detailed guidance and alignment criteria.
