Dairy’s Foundation Grants
This grant provides funding to non-profit organizations for innovative dairy-related events and educational programs that enhance the skills of dairy producers and foster public trust in the dairy industry.
Dairy’s Foundation Grant Program supports educational initiatives that enhance the strength and sustainability of the dairy industry through competitive grants of up to $10,000. Established by dairy producers and agribusinesses, Dairy’s Foundation was built on the belief that education is a cornerstone of strong communities and a thriving agricultural sector. The organization works to reinforce this belief by funding impactful programs that develop the skills of dairy professionals, nurture future generations, and build public trust in dairy farming. This grant opportunity is aimed at active nonprofit organizations that hold IRS status as either 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(5) entities. Projects must directly benefit the dairy industry by focusing on one or more of the Foundation's three core areas: preparing the next generation of dairy producers, improving the professional capacity of current producers, and enhancing public understanding and trust in dairy. Applicants are expected to demonstrate clear alignment with these goals through programs that emphasize leadership, innovation, impact, and potential for collaboration. Funding may not be used for individual scholarships, political or social advocacy, building projects, or programs already supported by check-off organizations. Other ineligible uses include artistic or religious programs, private business start-up costs, or seed capital. Instead, the Foundation prioritizes scalable and shareable projects with measurable impact. Projects are also required to submit periodic progress updates and a final evaluation report upon completion. Applications are accepted twice annually. For the spring cycle, applications may be submitted from January through May, with a final deadline of June 1. Applicants will be notified of award decisions by August 1. The fall cycle accepts applications from July through November, with a submission deadline of December 1 and notifications issued by February 1 of the following year. All submissions must be sent via email and must include a completed cover page, full grant proposal, and a copy of the IRS determination letter. The submission process is straightforward but detailed. Grant seekers must email their materials to info@dairyfoundation.org with the subject line “Grant Application.” The proposal should outline the project’s purpose, timeline, budget, and its relevance to the dairy industry. No pre-application steps such as letters of intent are required, but funded projects will be monitored for performance and impact post-award. The Foundation’s support is ongoing, with a biannual application cycle that ensures a consistent opportunity for new ideas to be funded. Organizations with educational projects that contribute meaningfully to the dairy community are encouraged to apply and help advance the industry through shared knowledge and innovation.
