Grant Description

Honda and the Honda USA Foundation are offering grant funding to nonprofit organizations and schools for the 2026–2027 funding cycle through their Programmatic Support initiative. This funding opportunity is part of Honda's broader Corporate Social Responsibility vision to empower communities where Honda associates live and work by supporting programs in specific thematic areas. Honda's grantmaking efforts emphasize advancing workforce development and environmental sustainability, aligning with their identified pillar categories: Education, Environment, and Mobility. The 2026–2027 Programmatic Support application window is open from October 1 to October 31, 2025. Applications must be submitted online no later than 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time on October 31, 2025. Funding decisions will be announced in Spring 2026. The award range for selected proposals is between $25,000 and $100,000. Organizations may submit up to two applications, provided they are for different programs. In the 2026–2027 cycle, Honda Corporate is offering support under the Education and Environment pillars, while the Honda USA Foundation will fund programs aligned with the Mobility pillar. The Education Pillar Award supports hands-on workforce pipeline initiatives that prepare individuals for careers in advanced manufacturing, with a focus on automation, design, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. Programs are expected to train participants in skills directly applicable to both current and future technologies and inspire the next generation of workers. The Environment Pillar Award focuses on environmental sustainability, specifically supporting programs that emphasize decarbonization, clean energy, and efficient use of natural resources. Projects must promote education and infrastructure that align with Honda's goals to reduce its environmental footprint through initiatives like energy efficiency upgrades, solar and wind installations, and zero-waste practices. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations and public/private schools in the United States. Organizations must either possess confirmed IRS nonprofit status or apply through a qualified nonprofit fiscal sponsor. Only programs that serve one or more of the following states will be considered: Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, and Texas. Programs that are political, religious, or discriminatory in nature are explicitly ineligible, as are applications from individuals, athletic teams, and programs previously completed. Honda does not fund programs received outside the online submission system or that do not align with their pillar award categories. All funding must be used for programmatic support that aligns with the specified Education, Environment, or Mobility themes. Honda encourages applicants to propose impactful, innovative, and measurable programs that strengthen their respective communities and reflect Honda's values of sustainability, innovation, and future-readiness in the workforce.
