Community Development Grant

The City of Yachats is offering funding for the 2025-2026 cycle of its Community Development Grant Program to support nonprofit organizations that contribute to local community growth. This grant opportunity provides financial assistance for both operations and project-based initiatives that enhance community development and visitor promotion within Yachats. The total funding pool available is $50,000, with a maximum of $15,000 per project. Funding is divided into two main categories: projects that support visitor promotion and amenity enhancements, and general community improvement and development efforts. Nonprofit organizations based in Yachats are eligible to apply, provided they are recognized by the IRS and are in good standing. Cooperative projects are welcomed, though the lead applicant must be a qualifying nonprofit that will also serve as the fiscal agent. Organizations must not owe any past-due taxes to the City of Yachats and cannot already be receiving direct budgeted allocations from the City to be eligible for this grant. Applications are expected to align with the City Council’s goals and vision. Applications will be evaluated by a selection committee based on several criteria: measurable positive community or tourism impact, level of collaboration, relevance to identified community needs, project feasibility, and overall funding considerations. Applicants that demonstrate clear outcomes, provide strong collaborative frameworks, and present a realistic budget and timeline will be viewed favorably. Although matching funds are not mandatory, they are encouraged and may strengthen an application. The committee may recommend funding levels different from what was requested based on the number of applicants and available funds. The application process opened on September 20, 2025, and will close on October 20, 2025. All applications must be submitted electronically via the official City of Yachats website. A completed application must include a funding request description, a detailed budget, an explanation of anticipated community benefit, information about the organization, and proof of nonprofit status. Applications must be endorsed by the applicant’s executive leader or board president. Award notifications will be sent electronically following City Council approval of committee recommendations. Selected applicants must sign a formal grant agreement with the City before receiving funds. Additionally, awardees are required to submit a final report one year after receiving funding. This report should include an assessment of the project’s outcomes and challenges. For tourism-related projects, relevant visitor data must also be reported. Organizations that have previously received grants must be in compliance with all reporting requirements to be eligible for future funding.
