Catalyst Grant

Common Good Philanthropies is a private grantmaking organization based in Wisconsin that invests in systems change to benefit older adults and people of all abilities. Originating from the assets of Inclusa, Inc., the foundation is committed to fostering inclusive, community-driven service ecosystems. Through its guiding Commonunity® framework—which emphasizes values like choice, contribution, accessibility, and belonging—it funds initiatives that reimagine long-term services and supports (LTSS). The foundation promotes innovative models that advance independent living, competitive integrated employment, and sustainable care delivery systems throughout Wisconsin. The Catalyst Grant supports ambitious, multi-year initiatives that address systemic challenges in LTSS. These grants are intended for nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations that are capable of implementing transformative projects aligned with Common Good Philanthropies’ strategic focus. Funding ranges from $25,000 to $150,000, enabling applicants to launch or scale high-impact efforts that strengthen care systems across the state. Projects can include piloting new service models, developing leadership infrastructure, or expanding integrated employment and housing access for populations with complex needs. Eligible projects may span a variety of topics including value-based care models, risk-sharing across payers and providers, peer support strategies, workforce innovation, and public policy advancement. Organizations may also use Catalyst Grant funds to build internal capacity—such as infrastructure improvements, evaluation systems, or collaborative partnership development. The foundation encourages programs that integrate data and accountability tools, prioritize sustainability, and explore replication or scale across Wisconsin. Applications begin with a Letter of Interest (LOI) submitted through the online grant portal. The LOI window opens April 1, 2026, and closes on May 21, 2026. Applicants will be notified of their LOI status within four to six weeks. Those invited to move forward will be asked to submit a full proposal with supporting documentation. Final funding decisions for the Catalyst Grant will be announced by November 1, 2026. First-time applicants must register in the portal before submitting their LOI. The Catalyst Grant does not require a matching contribution. Evaluation costs may be funded separately if applicable and should not be included in the project budget. Eligible applicants are limited to 501(c)(3) nonprofits and other tax-exempt entities working within Wisconsin. Ineligible uses include political activity, religious instruction, or general operations without a clear programmatic focus. This is a competitive opportunity intended to drive long-term systemic improvement across the LTSS landscape in the state. Common Good Philanthropies encourages potential applicants to connect early in the process to ensure alignment.
