Grant Description

The Athlete Recovery and Care Commitment Grant is a philanthropic initiative sponsored by TYLENOL in collaboration with the Women’s Sports Foundation. Established as part of TYLENOL’s broader Care Commitment program, this grant supports elite women athletes in the United States who have experienced significant sports injuries. Recognizing the physical, emotional, and financial setbacks that injuries can cause, TYLENOL—the nation's leading doctor-recommended brand for pain relief—has funded this program to ensure that affected athletes have access to essential recovery tools and services. Administered by the Women’s Sports Foundation, the grant aims to remove barriers to care and promote recovery without limits. Athletes often lose financial support or face significant medical expenses during recovery, jeopardizing their continued participation in elite-level competition. The grant seeks to counteract these challenges by providing direct financial assistance to help women athletes return to peak form and continue training for elite competitions, such as World Championships, National Championships, and the 2028 Los Angeles and 2030 French Alps Games. The grant totals $120,000 in funding, distributed across twelve individual awards of $10,000 each. These funds may be used to cover injury-related expenses that support both physical and mental recovery, including medical costs and recovery services. However, the use of grant funds is strictly limited to recovery-related purposes and cannot be used for any personal expenses. All awarded funds are subject to IRS regulations, and recipients must submit appropriate tax forms. If grant funds cannot be used for their intended purpose, they must be returned to the Women’s Sports Foundation. Eligible applicants must be elite-level women athletes who are U.S. citizens or legal residents and have experienced a sports-related injury in the past 12 months that has led to financial need. Applicants must also be actively training for elite competitions. In addition to demonstrating financial need and lack of other support, applicants must describe how the grant will support their recovery and ongoing athletic pursuits. Grant recipients must also consent to public promotion of their recovery stories by TYLENOL and the Women’s Sports Foundation. This includes the use of names and likenesses in promotional materials and social media obligations, as well as sharing updates on recovery progress at multiple intervals over a one-year period. The application portal for the grant opens on March 8, 2026, and closes on April 8, 2026, at 5 p.m. Eastern Time. Applications must be submitted via the Women’s Sports Foundation’s grant-management system, Foundant GLM. Applicants must create or update a user profile and enter their National Governing Body’s contact information; however, a Tax ID number is not required. Incomplete or late applications, those sent by email or fax, or those seeking retroactive funding will not be considered. Applicants will receive a confirmation email once their submission is received. Grant awards will be distributed in the second quarter of 2026. TYLENOL will feature selected recipients on its media channels as part of its ongoing Care Without Limits initiative. Athletes are expected to provide progress updates at the start, six-month, and one-year marks following fund disbursement. For additional guidance or inquiries, applicants may contact Elizabeth Flores-Amaya at the Women’s Sports Foundation.
