Grant Description

The Permian Basin Area Foundation offers competitive grants through two annual funding cycles: one in the spring and one in the fall. The Foundation supports qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations that operate within its designated service area and that demonstrate strong local presence, including local staff, board members, or office facilities. The Foundation explicitly does not accept applications from private or charter schools, organizations outside of its geographic service area, or applicants that have not completed a required interview with Foundation staff by the specified deadline. The application process is fully online and includes required uploads such as the organization’s current year budget, financial position statement, and either an audited or professionally prepared financial report. Organizations that have received prior grants must complete a follow-up form before applying again. Grant recipients must wait two full cycles—approximately two years—before becoming eligible to reapply. Denied applicants may be allowed to reapply sooner, but only at the discretion of the Grants Committee. For the Fall 2025 cycle, applications open on August 1 at 8 a.m. CT and close October 1 at 7 p.m. CT. All applicants must complete a required interview by September 15, 2025. Interviews must be arranged in advance by contacting the Foundation’s Grants Officer, Raymond Williams. Failure to complete the interview by the deadline will result in automatic disqualification. Applicants will receive funding notifications by early November, and if selected, must sign a grant agreement and adhere to specified terms via the Foundation’s online portal. The Foundation’s review process includes thorough evaluation by both staff and the Grants Committee. Follow-up communications, such as meetings, conference calls, or site visits, may be requested. Funded organizations are expected to adhere to the grant agreement, including all follow-up documentation and usage conditions. Collaborative applications involving school districts require the school district to initiate contact with the Foundation independently prior to submission.
