2025 Youth Philanthropy Project Grant in Washington

The Youth Philanthropy Project, an initiative of the Whatcom Community Foundation, supports high school students in developing leadership, personal, and professional skills while addressing critical local issues in Whatcom County. Through this program, a youth-led leadership committee, supported by staff, reviews grant proposals and makes funding decisions to support projects benefitting the community. The program provides grants of up to $5,000 to nonprofit organizations, schools, Native American Tribes, and government agencies. In 2025, half of the funding will be directed toward programs supporting youth and young adults (up to age 24) experiencing homelessness in Whatcom County. The other half will fund environmental initiatives that engage youth in meaningful ways. Priority consideration is given to projects that involve youth in program design and delivery, fostering their active participation and leadership. Applications open on October 7, 2024, and must be submitted by January 6, 2025, at 4:00 PM. Award decisions will be announced in April 2025.
