The AlgaePrize is a national algal-based competition that challenges students to become the next generation of bioeconomy professionals. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO), the competition aims to develop novel solutions for the production, processing, and new product development of algal biofuels and bioproducts. The competition will span 24 months and is open to teams of two or more students currently enrolled in U.S.-based educational institutions. Students will compete for a total of $250,000 in prize awards and national recognition while shaping the global future of converting algae to biofuels, food, and industrial compounds.
