Vela Foundation Grant Program

The Vela Foundation is dedicated to promoting improved nutrition and wellness in underserved communities. It supports entrepreneurial programs that focus on nutrition education and enhancing access to healthy foods. The Foundation is currently accepting letters of inquiry from nonprofit organizations. There is a particular interest in organizations with annual operating budgets of $5 million or less, with a preference for those under $3 million. The eligible service areas include the Greater Boston area, Gateway Cities such as Brockton, Chelsea, Fall River, Lawrence, Lowell, Lynn, New Bedford, and Cape Cod, with a focus on low-income communities.
