The foundation particularly values projects that build sustainable systems for safe water access, combat human trafficking and bonded labor, and support youth with disabilities. The international grant program is not open to unsolicited applications. Grants are awarded exclusively to organizations that have been invited to apply by the foundation. This process ensures a close alignment with strategic priorities and mission fit. Organizations should not expect to receive funding unless they have been approached by The Rees-Jones Foundation directly. To manage their funding process, the foundation uses an online portal where grantees must register. Though the international process is by invitation only, existing grantees or those invited to apply will be expected to submit a formal application through this portal. Financial guidelines advise that the foundation typically does not fund more than 25% of a project’s budget or more than 10% of an organization’s total operating budget. The foundation does not provide support to private foundations, commercial businesses, or individuals. It also does not fund lobbying efforts, event underwriting, scholarships, or endowments. Reporting requirements apply, and new applications will not be considered until final reports from previous grants have been submitted and reviewed.
