Grant Description

The gBETA Cincinnati program is a seven-week accelerator designed for early-stage startups with local roots in Cincinnati, Ohio. This free, equity-free program is part of the larger gener8tor accelerator network and provides selected companies with access to individualized coaching, mentorship, investor readiness training, and an extensive network of industry professionals. Participants engage in structured programming, including weekly "Lunch & Learns," mentor introductions, and investor pitch opportunities. The program offers over $1 million in perks and deals from companies such as IBM Cloud, Amazon, HubSpot, and Microsoft. Graduates of gBETA are encouraged to pursue investment accelerators or secure seed funding. The purpose of gBETA Cincinnati is to support promising startups by providing critical business growth resources, networking opportunities, and expert mentorship. The program emphasizes the importance of investor readiness and sales growth, ensuring that participants are equipped to scale their businesses effectively. By offering a structured curriculum that includes revenue modeling, competitive analysis, financing strategies, and pitching techniques, gBETA aims to prepare startups for further investment and sustainable business growth. The program does not provide direct funding or investment. Instead, it focuses on business development, mentorship, and investor connections. Participants benefit from individualized support, two weekly strategy meetings, and over 30 curated mentor introductions throughout the program. The final week includes one-on-one pitch meetings with more than 25 investors and concludes with a public showcase event where startups present their businesses to potential investors, mentors, and customers. Eligibility for gBETA Cincinnati requires companies to have a strong connection to the Cincinnati area and be able to commit to at least 85% of the program’s schedule. Founders should be prepared to engage openly with mentors and investors, have a growth-oriented mindset, and be ready to raise capital or scale sales operations. The program is highly selective, with only five companies chosen per cohort. Applications for the Spring 2025 cohort are currently open. The deadline to apply is February 28, 2025. The program will commence on March 13, 2025, and conclude on May 2, 2025. The application process involves submission through the gBETA website, with selected companies expected to sign a participation agreement upon acceptance. The program manager for this cohort has not yet been announced. Throughout the program, founders receive ongoing support, both during and after participation, through alumni resources, additional networking opportunities, and specialized industry events. gBETA continues to engage its graduates by providing connections to corporate innovation networks, investors, and other startups through gener8tor conferences and curated pitch sessions. The program's ultimate goal is to position startups for long-term success in securing funding and scaling their businesses.
