Community Experiences Program

The Community Experiences Program (CXP) is a grant initiative designed to support projects that enhance the quality of life within Kosciusko County, Indiana. Spearheaded by OrthoWorx and supported by several local partners including the City of Warsaw, Grace College, and the Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation, this initiative aligns with the region’s broader goal of attracting and retaining talent in the orthopedic industry. The fund specifically seeks to back capital projects that rejuvenate underutilized downtown areas, especially those that transform vacant or neglected buildings into new dining, arts, retail, or entertainment venues. The primary goal of the program is to support community-based experiences that directly or indirectly benefit the local orthopedic industry by making the region more attractive for current and prospective residents. Projects are expected to promote social interaction, encourage economic development, and enhance the overall appeal of downtown areas. This includes efforts to increase property values, drive foot traffic to local businesses, and spark additional development. CXP grants may provide up to 20% of a project’s total startup costs. However, preference is given to initiatives that demonstrate strong local investment from private entities, local businesses, or additional grant sources. Applicants must be either based in Kosciusko County or be investors willing to establish projects within the county. Personal property improvements, private residences, and non-shared services are not eligible for funding. The application process begins with a required pre-grant questionnaire or letter of intent (LOI), which is currently being accepted through March 31, 2026. Following review by the CXP committee, selected candidates may be invited to submit a formal application. The LOI must describe the project purpose, total costs, and funding sources. Projects must demonstrate a clear community benefit and financial viability. All prospective applicants are encouraged to provide detailed budget plans, demonstrate local financial backing, and show how their projects align with the goals of revitalizing downtown Kosciusko County. The committee will prioritize those efforts that visibly enhance the local quality of life and support long-term economic sustainability.
