ROSES 2024: B.15 Heliophysics Innovation in Technology and Science

This program element within NASA’s ROSES-2024 seeks proposals for innovative technology and science investigations in the field of heliophysics. It is part of the Science Mission Directorate's broader Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) initiative. Proposals may be submitted on a rolling basis, with a final submission cutoff of April 28, 2025. Funding is offered through grants or cooperative agreements, and the research typically spans three years, with some flexibility for shorter or longer durations depending on the program. This element supports a wide array of heliophysics research, welcoming proposals from U.S. institutions, while foreign institutions may participate under a no-exchange-of-funds basis. Special guidelines apply to foreign collaborators, detailed in the NASA Proposer’s Guide. Required application documents, including at least one mandatory form, must be downloaded from NSPIRES. Proposers must be affiliated with an institution at nspires.nasaprs.com/ and, in general, NASA provides funding only to U.S. institutions. Organizations outside the U.S. that propose on the basis of a policy of no-exchange-of-funds; consult the NASA Proposer’s Guide (https://www.nasa.gov/general/grants-policy-and-compliance-team/ - section-2) for specific details. Some NRAs may be issued jointly with a non-U.S. organization, e.g., those concerning guest observing programs for jointly sponsored space science programs, that will contain additional special guidelines for non-U.S. participants.
