Evansville Endowment Fund’s Grant 2025
This grant provides funding for capital improvement projects that enhance community facilities and services within Evansville, Indiana, prioritizing projects that benefit specific neighborhoods and support local nonprofit organizations.
The Evansville Endowment Fund, administered by the Community Foundation Alliance, offers annual competitive grants focused on capital improvement projects within the city limits of Evansville, Indiana. The grant cycle runs from May through October, with applications being accepted only during this specified window. Organizations interested in applying must submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) as the first step, which helps the grants committee determine alignment with the Fund's goals before inviting full applications. For the 2025 grant cycle, LOI forms will be accepted from May 7, 2025, through June 4, 2025. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their LOI submission by July 16, 2025. Organizations whose LOIs are accepted will then be invited to submit a formal application, which must be submitted by August 13, 2025. Grant recipients will be determined and announced later in the fall. To access the application, users must log into the Foundation’s grant portal and use the application access code “cfa.” The Fund supports a range of capital projects, including those for social and community-based organizations, arts and cultural facilities, recreational spaces, neighborhood revitalization, and economic development. At least 60 percent of grant funding is designated for projects that benefit the 4th and 6th wards of Evansville. Additionally, not more than 30 percent of any grant request may be allocated toward operating costs, and such costs must directly relate to the proposed capital project. Eligible applicants must be tax-exempt organizations under IRS sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a) and must provide services within Evansville. The Fund does not support projects affiliated with for-profit entities, religious or political activities, endowment creation, debt reduction, or programmatic expenses not directly related to capital projects. The average grant ranges from $20,000 to $25,000, with a minimum preferred request of $1,000. For further information or assistance with the grant process, applicants may contact the Community Foundation Alliance at their main office located at 20 NW 3rd Street, Suite 820, Evansville, IN 47708, or by phone at 812-429-1191.
