Grant Description

The GoTeach! Classroom Grants program is an initiative of the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, which serves as the philanthropic partner of the School District of Palm Beach County. The Foundation supports the public school system by leveraging public and private funding sources to invest strategically in classroom-based initiatives that advance student success. Through collaboration with corporate sponsors, foundations, and the State of Florida's School District Education Foundation Matching Grant Program, the Foundation aims to promote excellence in education across the district. The GoTeach! Classroom Grants are designed to empower teachers by providing direct-to-classroom funding to implement innovative and engaging projects that benefit students. These grants emphasize six core priority areas: Literacy, Career & Technical Education, College Readiness/Graduation Rates, Skills for Living and Learning, Financial Literacy, and STEM, including emerging topics like Artificial Intelligence. The initiative underscores the Foundation’s commitment to enhancing educational outcomes through targeted support for teachers who are motivated to enrich classroom instruction and student learning. Funding levels vary depending on the scale and scope of the proposed project. Individual teachers may apply for $1,000 awards, while collaborative teams may apply for $1,500. Projects with broader school-wide or grade-level impact may qualify for the GoReach! High Impact Awards at $3,000. Additionally, GoTeach STEM! and GoTeach FINLIT! Innovation Awards of up to $5,000 are available for STEM or Financial Literacy-focused proposals. For these higher-tier awards, 80% of the funding may go toward the project itself, while the remaining 20% may be allocated as stipends for the participating teachers. To support applicants, the Foundation provides virtual grant-writing workshops and office hours. These sessions offer general tips, detailed guidance on the grant process, and opportunities for feedback on draft proposals. The workshops are scheduled on specific dates from May through August, and drop-in virtual office hours allow applicants to ask questions and refine their submissions. Applications for the 2025–2026 cycle are currently being accepted, with a deadline of August 8, 2025. Submissions will be reviewed by the Foundation’s Programs & Grants Committee, comprising board members and community leaders. Award decisions will be announced in the fall during a formal recognition event. Grantees are required to submit end-of-year reports that include a summary of outcomes, photos, and a description of how the funds were utilized. As of the 2024–2025 school year, the GoTeach! Classroom Grants program has distributed over $190,000 to fund 86 projects across 59 schools, benefiting more than 22,745 students and 1,439 teachers. Funding partners for this cycle include Amazon, Verizon, UnitedHealthcare, Florida Blue, PNC Bank, The Batchelor Foundation, and several others. For more information, applicants may contact the Foundation at 561-340-3501 or visit the Foundation’s headquarters at 1515 Barton Road, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460.
