Town of Christiansburg Façade Grant Program

The Town of Christiansburg created a new program aimed at helping property or business owners improve their building façades and encourage investment in historic central business areas. Donor Name: Town of Christiansburg State: Virginia Town: Christiansburg Type of Grant: Grant | Matching Grants Deadline: 09/30/2024 Size of the Grant: $1000 to $10,000 Grant Duration: Grant Duration Not Mentioned Details: The Façade Grant Program, the first of its kind in the Town of Christiansburg, completed its first round in 2020 and is designed to improve the streetscape of Downtown and Cambria, strengthen partnerships with Downtown and Cambria stakeholders and encourage revitalization of older buildings. The finalists will work with a local artist selected by the Town to draft a design concept, and once the artist’s rendering has been approved by the committee, property or business owners will be required to perform or contract all building improvements within six months, or over an approved phasing schedule of nine months. Funding Information Eligible businesses can apply for up to $5,000 matching grant through the Town. Eligibility Criteria he building must be located within the town limits of Christiansburg, VA. The building must be occupied or in the process of being repaired or upgraded. Property must be zoned as B-1, B-2, B-3, I-1, I-2, MU-1, or MU-2 Buildings must be at least 50 years old. Applicant must be a for-profit business owner. If business owner is different from property owner, must have consent of property owner(s).
