2025 Green Bay Packers Foundation Grant
This grant provides funding to Wisconsin-based nonprofit organizations focused on animal welfare, community initiatives, environmental issues, or health and wellness projects.
The Green Bay Packers Foundation, established in 1986 by Judge Robert J. Parins, then president of Green Bay Packers, Inc., operates independently from the football team and aims to support charitable organizations throughout Wisconsin. It is a part of the broader Green Bay Packers Give Back initiative. The Foundation's mission is to support charities that enhance family environments, promote the value of athletics, contribute to the welfare of players and fans, ensure child safety and education, and prevent cruelty to animals. The Foundation operates on a structured three-year grant cycle, with each year focusing on distinct areas. For the 2025 grant cycle, eligible projects must relate to animal welfare, civic and community initiatives, environmental issues, or health and wellness, including drug and alcohol prevention as well as domestic violence. Organizations are permitted to apply once per three-year cycle. Therefore, those who applied between 2020 and 2022 are eligible to apply again during the 2023–2025 cycle. Grant requests must be between $3,000 and $8,000. To be eligible, organizations must be physically located in Wisconsin, have held a 501(c)(3) status for a minimum of two years, and propose a project that aligns with the year’s focus areas. Ineligible applications include those from non-501(c)(3) organizations, individuals, or those proposing capital campaigns, debt relief, endowments, or events and sponsorships not tied to the annual focus areas. Applications are accepted online from May 6 through July 7, 2025, with a submission deadline of 11:59 p.m. CST. The application process involves submitting organizational details, a project description, a budget, and several required documents, including financial statements and Form 990 or 990EZ. Applications are reviewed by Trustees, who may contact applicants during August and September. Decisions are finalized in October, with grant disbursements occurring in late November or early December. The Foundation’s Trustees include ten members of the Green Bay Packers Board of Directors, with leadership by Wilson Jones as Chairperson and Dexter McNabb as Alternate Chairperson. Contact for application queries is conducted via email. The Foundation does not provide a public phone number for inquiries. In 2024, the Foundation distributed $1.5 million to 398 organizations, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to Wisconsin communities. Scholarship programs operated through partnerships with CollegeReady and NWTC continue to support educational access in Brown County.
