The Anne Arundel County Department of Health (AACDOH) Behavioral Health Bureau has opened the FY25 Recovery Residency Fire Suppression System Community Grants, funded by Opioid Restitution Funds, to enhance safety in Recovery Residences within the county. This grant supports the installation of fire suppression and sprinkler systems, a requirement for Maryland Certification of Recovery Residences (MCORR) under the Maryland Department of Health’s Behavioral Health Administration. The grant aims to improve resident safety and reduce barriers to achieving or maintaining MCORR certification.
To qualify, applicants must be Recovery Residence Providers operating in Anne Arundel County since before January 1, 2024. Residences must be MCORR certified or actively seeking certification, with a requirement to complete certification within 90 days after work completion if they are not yet certified. Priority consideration will be given to non-profit Recovery Residences.
Applications should be submitted to the AACDOH’s Behavioral Health Bureau via email at bh.community.grants@aacounty.org. The initial review of applications begins on November 15, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., and will proceed on a rolling basis as long as funds remain. Notifications of awards are expected by December 9, 2024.
