Grant Description

The Women’s Fund Grants Program, administered through the Community Foundation Alliance, is a philanthropic initiative led by the Women’s Fund of Warrick County. This fund is designed to empower and unite women philanthropists in their efforts to address critical needs in Warrick County, Indiana. Through collective giving and targeted funding, the program aims to enhance the quality of life for local residents by supporting impactful, charitable programs and services. The Women’s Fund conducts an annual grant cycle and, for the current round, will offer three awards: one Impact Grant of $10,000 and two additional grants of $5,000 each. These grants are aimed at projects that demonstrate long-term planning, financial sustainability, and sound evaluation strategies. Projects must also show a commitment to collaboration, address issues using a preventative methodology, and reflect evidence of strong organizational planning and leadership. The fund focuses on promoting gender equity and seeks applicants who demonstrate a commitment to this principle through leadership representation and organizational values. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations classified as tax-exempt under sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code, as well as governmental agencies operating within Warrick County. Non-501(c)(3) organizations may also be considered if their proposals are charitable and meet eligibility criteria; in such cases, a fiscal sponsor agreement is required. Program grants must supplement, rather than replace, existing operations and cannot fund general operating expenses, event sponsorships, religious or political initiatives, or debt reduction. Funded projects may fall under one of several thematic areas: Community Development, Education, Health/Mental Health, Human Services, or Other Civic Endeavors that enhance the quality of life in Warrick County. Projects that do not promote gender equity or lack female leadership are ineligible, as are those focusing solely on spiritual growth, political activities, scholarships, or individual support. Applications are due by 5:00 pm on Friday, July 18, 2025. The application process includes a thorough review by the Women’s Fund Grants Committee, which may involve site visits or follow-up inquiries. Up to six semifinalists will be selected, with three advancing to the final round. Finalists will submit a one-page proposal summary for a membership vote. The Impact Grant and additional grants will be awarded based on these votes, with winners notified by the end of September 2025. Funded projects must begin within six months and be completed within two years of receiving the grant. Final reporting may be required at the discretion of the Women’s Fund. Supporting documents required include a current board roster with professional affiliations, the organization’s operating budget, the most recent financial statements, and a fiscal sponsor letter if applicable. Applications must be submitted electronically through the foundation's portal. For more information or assistance, applicants may contact the foundation by phone at 812-897-2030. No lobbying or solicitation of the Women’s Fund members is permitted during the application process.
