Grant Description

The General Support Grant, administered by the Daviess County Visitors Bureau through its Event Assistance Grant Program, is designed to support local non-profit organizations in hosting impactful community events throughout Daviess County, Indiana. This grant initiative reflects the Bureau's commitment to fostering tourism, cultural enrichment, and community engagement by empowering local nonprofits to deliver accessible public events that resonate with residents and visitors alike. The program offers financial assistance of up to $1,000 per award, focusing on enhancing the quality, visibility, and impact of events that strengthen the cultural and social fabric of the area. Events must take place within Daviess County and promote tourism, community participation, or cultural vitality. A strong emphasis is placed on inclusive public access and events that foster regional appeal. Examples of qualifying events may include local festivals, arts showcases, heritage celebrations, and other culturally significant gatherings that align with the Bureau's mission to promote Daviess County as a vibrant destination. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations based in or serving Daviess County. All proposed events must be open to the public, and funding must be used in the calendar year of the award. Notably, radio advertisements are excluded from eligible expenses due to an existing partnership with Shake Broadcasting. However, event listings are encouraged on the Visitors Bureau’s website, which provides free on-air announcements through the “Drive Around Town” segment. Applicants are required to submit a complete application form via the Visitors Bureau website, accompanied by a detailed project proposal. This proposal must outline the event’s purpose, target audience, proposed budget, evidence of community partnerships (if any), and a clear plan for evaluating success and impact. Submissions are reviewed competitively by the Daviess County Tourism Commission based on alignment with program goals, event feasibility, budget clarity, and community impact potential. The application deadline is May 31, 2026. Successful applicants will be notified by June 30, 2026 and must sign a grant agreement formalizing the terms of funding. Following the event, recipients must submit a final report within 30 days, detailing event outcomes, financial reporting with receipts, and any promotional materials or photographs. Grant funds are disbursed upon approval of the application, and accountability through reporting is a core requirement. Questions regarding the grant can be directed to the Visitors Bureau at 812-674-3424 or via email at [email protected]. The Bureau welcomes applications from local non-profits eager to enhance Daviess County’s event landscape and invites all qualifying organizations to contribute to the community’s vibrancy through creative, inclusive programming.
