The Ak-Chin Indian Community's 2025 Prop 202 - 12% Grant Program stems from Arizonaβs Tribal/State Gaming Compact approved under Proposition 202. The Community allocates 12% of its gaming revenues directly through this grant program to cities, towns, counties, and nonprofit organizations supported by a government fiscal agent. Funding is designated for programs that provide direct benefit to the general public in fields such as education, public safety, healthcare, environment, commerce, and economic or community development. Salaries and wages are explicitly excluded from funding eligibility.
Eligible applicants include political subdivisions such as cities, towns, and counties, as well as nonprofit organizations that can provide proof of tax-exempt status and a formal resolution from a city, town, or county agreeing to serve as their fiscal agent. Nonprofits must submit proof of both elements with their application. All applications must follow the provided format, including a cover sheet, a 5-page maximum narrative, and a detailed budget justification.
Funding awarded from 2025 revenues will be available starting in 2026. The performance period for funded projects is one year from the date the grant agreement is fully executed. Multi-year funding requests are not allowed. The Community emphasizes that the total funding available varies and may not fully cover all requests; partial funding may be awarded.
Applications must be submitted by mail (no fax, email, or hand delivery) and must be received by July 15, 2025. Selection decisions will begin after September 8, 2025, with funding disbursed beginning January 1, 2026. Selected applicants must quickly finalize a grant agreement to secure their funding.
