LIVE UNITED Mini-Grant Program
This program provides financial support to small non-profit organizations in Gloucester County to enhance community programs focused on education, financial stability, and health.
The United Way of Gloucester County is seeking to provide financial support to small non-profit organizations that are located in and serve residents of Gloucester County. Through its LIVE UNITED Mini-Grant Program, the organization aims to offer one-time competitive grants of up to one thousand dollars. The program is designed to support agency programs that make a difference in the lives of community members. The LIVE UNITED Mini-Grant Program operates as an extension of United Way’s standard allocations process to better address emerging needs within the community. Applications for this program must be completed in full and submitted by the specified deadline to be considered. The grants awarded through this program can be used either to supplement and enhance ongoing programs or to address critical one-time needs. The focus areas for these grants include education, financial stability, and health. In the field of education, the grants may support efforts that prepare and assist school-age children in early education and youth development, promote academic success and increased high school graduation rates, build life skills, and facilitate successful transitions to post-secondary education or career pursuits. For financial stability, grants may promote financial literacy and stability, support asset building, offer life skills training related to financial responsibility and credit management, and provide job training and employment assistance. Health-related efforts eligible for funding include programs that promote access to healthcare or health education, provide preventative resources, and combat childhood obesity. Funding under this program may also cover critical needs such as the purchase of supplies or equipment or staff training essential to program operations. However, certain uses are explicitly excluded, including contributions to capital campaigns, fundraising efforts, deficit funding, and routine operational expenses. Each agency may submit only one application for one program under this grant opportunity. Eligibility for the LIVE UNITED Mini-Grant Program is limited to non-profit organizations with 501(c)(3) status that have a physical location in Gloucester County and provide services to county residents. The organization must be local and not a part of a national organization, and its gross receipts must be less than two million dollars as reported on its most recent IRS Form 990. Agencies currently receiving funding through United Way of Gloucester County’s standard allocations process are not eligible to apply. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. The application timeline for this grant is clearly defined. The application period opens on June 2, 2025, and completed applications with all required supporting documents must be submitted by July 31, 2025, at 4:00 PM. Notification of funding awards and grant amounts will be sent via email by September 30, 2025. Grant awards will be mailed to recipients by October 7, 2025. Agencies that receive funding will be required to submit an outcome report by January 15, 2026.
