The Tiffin Community Foundation administers two grant opportunities through dedicated charitable funds aimed at serving the City of Tiffin and Seneca County, Ohio. The White Family Charitable Fund supports initiatives that enhance the overall well-being of the community, while the Betty Jane Memorial Fund focuses specifically on programs for people with disabilities. Both funds are managed by the Foundation and reviewed by respective committees composed of volunteers and board members.
The White Family Charitable Fund accepts applications from tax-exempt public and private organizations within Tiffin and Seneca County. Eligible projects should promote independence, education, cultural enrichment, diversity, equity, community cooperation, nonprofit sustainability, environmental improvement, and overall community wellness. Applications to the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) under this fund are especially welcomed for youth-centric projects. YAC applications are reviewed in April following a March 31 submission deadline. The main fundโs deadlines are March 5, June 4, September 3, and December 3, 2025.
The Betty Jane Memorial Fund is dedicated to supporting charitable work that assists individuals with physical, mental, social, or vocational rehabilitation needs. Applicants must demonstrate goals aligned with promoting health and wellness, academic achievement, community problem-solving, and universal access. The grant discourages funding for routine maintenance, operational costs, endowments, or political/religious purposes. Betty Jane Memorial Fund applications are due annually on December 31, with funding decisions made in January.
Applications for both grant opportunities require submission to The Tiffin Community Foundation at 31 South Washington Street, Tiffin, Ohio. Prospective applicants must request the necessary forms by contacting the foundation via email at info@tiffinfoundation.org or by calling 419-448-1791. One universal grant application form serves all funds administered by the foundation.
The review committees consider each application based on merit, relevance to fund goals, and the potential for community impact. Denied applications are generally not reconsidered. The grant guidelines make it clear that funding is focused on impactful, sustainable initiatives rather than routine or operational needs.
The Tiffin Community Foundation maintains office hours from Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to 4 PM. Their operations are guided by a commitment to transparency and local empowerment, with all awards communicated directly to applicants by mail following committee decisions.
