Girls Giving Grants

Girls Giving Grants (g3), a youth initiative of the Impact Austin Foundation, offers an unrestricted grant opportunity targeted at nonprofit organizations benefiting youth in the greater Austin area. Impact Austin is a Texas-based nonprofit organization, classified under Section 501(c)(3), that promotes collaborative philanthropy among women and youth. The Girls Giving Grants program empowers young women by involving them directly in the grantmaking process. These young philanthropists review applications, conduct site visits, and collectively determine the grant recipient. The g3 grant seeks to fund projects or programs that specifically benefit a defined youth population in Travis, Hays, Bastrop, or Williamson counties in Texas. Only organizations that are registered public charities with tax-exempt status under IRS Section 501(c)(3) and 509(a) are eligible to apply. Applicants must propose to use the entire award amount available for this grant, indicating that partial funding requests will not be considered. The grant is unrestricted, which means organizations have flexibility in how they allocate the awarded funds as long as the project serves the youth population within the specified geography. The application cycle for the 2025–2026 grant opens on Monday, September 29, 2025, and closes at 5:00 PM CT on Friday, October 24, 2025. Applications must be submitted via the g3 Grants Management System, and organizations must have a valid Agency Profile within that system. If unsure about profile status, applicants are instructed to verify their EIN by contacting the program administrators. Late or incomplete submissions may be rejected. Once applications are received, a structured evaluation process begins. Girls Giving Grants’ Application Review Committees (ARC), composed of student leaders, assess proposals through a collaborative learning process. These committees engage in research and dialogue about current community needs and the proposed projects. After multiple review phases, two finalists are selected, and site visits are conducted to evaluate the projects further. Members then vote to select the final awardee, with the grant recipient announced at a public ceremony in April 2026. Key milestones in the grant timeline include the semifinalist announcements in February 2026, finalist decisions in March 2026, and the grant award and site visits in April 2026. The final presentation of the g3 grant will also be recognized at the Impact Austin Annual Meeting in June 2026. The grant is offered on an annual basis, and guidelines may evolve from year to year, with Girls Giving Grants reserving the right to revise eligibility and process criteria without notice.
