County of Maui Farm to Family Grant

The Farm to Family Grant is a funding opportunity administered by the County of Maui Department of Agriculture for Fiscal Year 2026. It supports Maui County-based organizations committed to increasing access to locally grown or harvested food for residents, particularly vulnerable populations. The program aims to strengthen the local food system and reduce food insecurity through a variety of community-based initiatives. Projects should enhance food access and affordability for residents, including kūpuna (seniors), infants and new parents, and those with health vulnerabilities or economic hardship. The types of eligible programs include farm-to-food bank initiatives, which supplement or create food distribution programs with local products; first foods programs for infants and new parents; kūpuna feeding efforts that integrate local produce into existing services or deliver local food boxes; local food subsidies for cost-burdened residents; and Produce Rx programs that offer medically tailored meals or food boxes to support preventive health care. Grant awards will range from $100,000 to $250,000. All funds must be used to support the purchase or subsidization of Maui County-sourced food or related distribution and subsidy activities. Programs must align with the goal of enhancing food security through increased availability and affordability of local food products. To support applicants, an online informational workshop will be held via Microsoft Teams on August 20, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. The workshop will cover application procedures and eligibility requirements. Registration is available through a Microsoft Teams event link provided in the announcement.
