Dow Championship #TeamUp Grant Program
This program provides funding to nonprofit organizations in Michigan's Great Lakes Bay Region that focus on STEM education, skilled trades, sustainability, and community development.
The Dow Championship #TeamUp Grant Program is a regional philanthropic initiative led by the Dow Championship, an official LPGA Tour event held annually in Michigan’s Great Lakes Bay Region. Since its inception in 2019, the program has awarded over $3 million to support nonprofit organizations that contribute to the social and economic vitality of local communities. The 2026 cycle continues this tradition, inviting eligible nonprofits within the Great Lakes Bay Region to apply for funding that supports a variety of impactful programming areas. The Dow Championship itself is known for integrating community engagement with professional sports, operating with a strong focus on sustainability, inclusion, and regional development. The program is designed to support 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that are physically located within the counties of Saginaw, Bay, Midland, or Isabella. Each of these four counties will see seven local nonprofits selected for grant awards. Additionally, eight grants will be given to organizations whose services span multiple counties within the region. In total, 36 nonprofit recipients will each receive a guaranteed grant of $4,500. The program also provides an opportunity for selected organizations to earn additional funding by participating in auxiliary events or volunteering during the 2026 Dow Championship, which will be held June 8–14 at Midland Country Club. Grant recipients will be evaluated based on their contributions to one or more of the following focus areas: STEM education, skilled trades, sustainability, and thriving communities. These focus areas align with the broader mission of the Dow Championship to foster long-term, sustainable community growth and support educational and workforce development pathways. Each awarded nonprofit will also be paired with one of the 72 LPGA teams competing in the championship as part of the event's community integration. Applicants must submit their materials online via the tournament website by 5:00 p.m. EDT on March 13, 2026. The application process is streamlined and accessible, ensuring equitable opportunity for a broad range of community-serving organizations. There is no pre-application requirement such as a letter of intent or concept note. Selected grantees will be notified following the close of the application window and prior to the event in June. The Dow Championship collaborates with several regional community foundations—including the Bay Area, Midland Area, Mt. Pleasant Area, and Saginaw Community Foundations—to ensure broad awareness of the opportunity and support in the selection process. These partnerships bolster the credibility and accessibility of the grant program within the local nonprofit ecosystem. For more information, including ticket sales and event updates, applicants and the general public are encouraged to visit dowchampionship.com. Updates on the grant program and championship are also provided via social media under @dowchampionship on Instagram, Facebook, and X.
