The Judith Ann Mogan Foundation (JAMF) supports charitable efforts that improve quality of life in Coastal Douglas County, Coos County, and Curry County, Oregon. The Foundation offers two types of grants for the 2025 cycle: a Small Grant Program for requests up to $25,000 and a Large Grant Program for requests over $25,000. Both programs share similar eligibility criteria and requirements, though they follow slightly different processes.
For small grants, applicants bypass the Letter of Inquiry (LOI) and proceed directly to the application. These grants are typically awarded by July or August. For large grants, applicants must first submit an LOI via JAMFβs online portal. After evaluation, selected applicants may be invited to submit a full application, with awards typically disbursed in October or November.
Organizations may submit up to two applications, one to each program or both to a single program, though funding is not guaranteed and awards may be less than requested. Previous grantees with active projects are eligible to reapply, provided they submit progress reports by August 20, 2025.
Eligible applicants include Oregon-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits, government entities, schools, hospitals, and those with qualified fiscal sponsors. Applications must be submitted online. JAMF does not fund endowments, individual or scholarship requests, religious doctrine promotion, political campaigns, legislative efforts, or lending-related proposals.
Priority funding areas include: Arts & Culture, Children & Youth, Community Health, Convening & Gathering Places, Economic Development, Environment & Natural Resources, and Poverty Alleviation. JAMF emphasizes strong organizational leadership, financial responsibility, sustainability planning, and the use of S.M.A.R.T. goals in proposals. Grants are generally for one-year terms, though multi-year grants may be considered.
