The Families First DC (FFDC) Project Grant is a funding opportunity provided by the Government of the District of Columbia’s Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) for Fiscal Year 2025. This initiative is designed to support vulnerable families in Washington, DC, with a particular focus on neighborhoods such as Central Northeast and Greenway in Ward 7, where disparities in well-being, economic opportunity, and family stability are most pronounced. Through Family Success Centers, the program adopts a neighborhood-driven approach to providing resources, reducing disparities, and creating stronger, more resilient families.
The FFDC program seeks to enhance family functioning through place-based initiatives that address multiple facets of family life, such as economic stability, access to resources, and opportunities for skill-building. Family Success Centers will be safe, accessible community spaces where residents can access technology, onsite resources, and classes or training that meet their specific needs. Each center is tailored to the strengths and goals of its community, ensuring a meaningful and localized impact.
Eligible applicants for this grant include nonprofit organizations, private and public organizations, and faith-based entities with documented experience serving families in the neighborhood they propose to support. Partnerships between organizations are encouraged to provide coordinated program delivery, and applicants must provide letters of commitment or support from their partners. Applicants are also required to meet various regulatory requirements, including registration with the Office of Tax and Revenue, compliance with the District’s procurement and payment systems, and submission of a Clean Hands certificate.
The FFDC program offers funding of up to $325,000 for the 12-month base year, with the potential for up to four additional 12-month option periods, enabling sustained implementation of place-based family support initiatives. Applications for the FY25 grant are due by 2:00 PM on Monday, December 9, 2024. The Request for Applications (RFA) will be available beginning Friday, November 8, 2024, and can be accessed through the Ariba website or the District’s Grant Clearinghouse Website.
