CY2025/FY2026 Chesapeake and Coastal Grants Gateway - Outcome 3: Habitat Restoration
This grant provides funding for local governments and non-profit organizations to design and construct habitat restoration projects that combat erosion and flooding while benefiting communities and addressing climate change.
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Chesapeake & Coastal Service (CCS) offers grants for designing and constructing habitat restoration projects to address erosion and flooding. Eligible applicants, including local governments and non-profit organizations, can apply for up to $100,000 for design projects and between $200,000 and $1.5M for construction projects. Applications are due by December 13, 2024, with funding available from July 1, 2025. Projects should enhance habitat, address climate change impacts, and provide community-wide benefits.

Additional Details
Design projects can request up to $100,000, while construction projects can request between $200,000 and $1.5M. Larger projects on public lands may be considered. Funds cannot be used to bank water quality credits, meet compensatory mitigation requirements, or be sold for profit.
