Sewage Management Education and Outreach Grant

The Clean Vessel Act Education and Outreach Grant Program, funded by the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) with federal support from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund, aims to reduce recreational boater sewage discharged into California waterways. The program provides two regional grants, each up to $280,031, for developing and implementing a 12-month Boater Education, Outreach, and Vessel Pumpout Monitoring Program. The term can be extended for another year if performance expectations are met. Additionally, $33,750 is available for a Community-Based Social Marketing Study to develop strategies for fostering behavioral changes among boaters. Eligible applicants must be non-profit organizations, local government entities, or private (for-profit) organizations with at least five years of relevant experience. The application deadline is August 9, 2024, by 10:00 AM PST.
