This grant is funded by the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) FY 2023 Pollution Prevention Grant: Environmental Justice through Safer and More Sustainable Products. This grant funds the DOEE Green Cleaning Program (GCP). The GCP will promote the adoption of safer and more sustainable cleaning products among CSPs. Its goal will be to reduce harmful chemical exposure for individuals in disadvantaged communities. This program aims to incentivize CSPs from or working in Wards 5, 7, and 8 to transition to safer and more sustainable cleaning products through outreach, capacity building, networking, and subsidizing the initial transition cost. The grantee will identify CSPs of Wards 5, 7, and 8, generate and implement an outreach strategy, develop technical assistance components, and manage subsidies to facilitate the initial transition. The grantee will gather information on the transitioning process and report on the process and lessons learned.
