The East Hill Foundation offers grant opportunities to nonprofit organizations serving the residents of Western New York, primarily focused on Erie and Niagara counties. Funding priorities center around basic human needs projects, including food, clothing, and shelter, to support those less fortunate in the community. Grants are available in amounts up to $50,000.
Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations (excluding private foundations) located in or serving Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming counties. However, preference is given to projects benefitting Erie and Niagara counties.
The application process is a two-step process:
Submission of an online Letter of Intent by May 12, 2025.
Upon invitation, submission of a full Grant Application by August 1, 2025.
All applications are reviewed by the East Hill Foundation Board of Directors, with final funding decisions made at their Fall Board Meeting. The Foundation may schedule site visits prior to the Board's decision. Only one application per organization is permitted each cycle, and funded applicants must sign a formal grant contract and submit final (and possibly interim) reports.
Notably, the Foundation does not fund operating expenses, salaries, endowments, scholarships, technology, rent assistance, religious purposes, or political activities.
