Community Grants
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations and schools in Pickaway County, Ohio, for innovative projects that improve community quality of life, especially for underserved populations.
The Pickaway County Community Foundation (PCCF) is a charitable organization committed to enhancing the quality of life across Pickaway County, Ohio. Through donor-advised, unrestricted, and field-of-interest funds, the Foundation carries out the charitable intentions of its contributors while supporting the development and sustainability of nonprofit efforts in the region. PCCF’s Community Grants are disbursed through an open and competitive application process, allowing the Foundation to respond to innovative programming, emerging community needs, and projects that might not otherwise be initiated without financial assistance. Since 2001, PCCF has distributed over $3.4 million in grants and scholarships, reflecting its long-term dedication to community advancement. The primary mission of PCCF’s grantmaking is to provide resources that support initiatives benefiting residents of Pickaway County. Priority is given to proposals that demonstrate innovation, collaboration, and impact. Funded projects often include pilot programs, one-time needs, or capacity-building initiatives. The Foundation seeks to support both emerging and well-established nonprofits that offer services to underserved or disadvantaged populations, propose creative solutions to ongoing challenges, or address gaps in the community’s infrastructure or service delivery. PCCF favors projects that build partnerships among organizations, leverage additional funding sources, and show a clear path for sustainability beyond the grant period. Grants are typically directed toward defined areas of community need, including arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environment, health, human services, agriculture, workforce development, and leadership. In particular, PCCF is interested in proposals that focus on early education, health screenings, workforce readiness, safe and livable communities, and enhanced access to services for vulnerable populations. Organizations requesting funding must operate within Pickaway County and demonstrate IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Faith-based groups may apply if their services are nonsectarian, and public school systems must channel requests through their superintendent’s office, giving preference to projects that serve more than individual classrooms. There are specific funding exclusions applicants should consider. PCCF does not support individuals, religious programs, political organizations, or initiatives that have already occurred. In general, the Foundation is unlikely to fund academic research, ongoing operational expenses, or programs that are already government-mandated. It also avoids providing full funding for any project, instead preferring to complement diversified funding strategies. Applicants may only submit one proposal per program per cycle, and re-submissions are restricted unless the project has undergone significant change. The application process is structured around quarterly cycles. For 2026, application deadlines fall on February 23, May 11, and August 24, with respective presentation dates of March 12, May 28, and September 10. Applicants are encouraged to participate in grant review meetings and present their proposals in a 5–7-minute session, during which PCCF fund holders may ask questions. Incomplete applications may be denied, and returning grantees must be in compliance with all reporting obligations before becoming eligible for new grants. For inquiries, applicants may contact PCCF at [email protected] or call 740-477-6207. The Foundation’s office is located at 770 North Court Street, Circleville, OH 43113. Grant guidelines and application materials can be accessed online at www.yourpccf.org/grants. Presentations and final award decisions follow each quarterly deadline. As the Foundation continues its work, it remains focused on long-term impact, strategic investments, and fostering strong, community-driven initiatives within Pickaway County.
