Entrepreneurship programs should focus on strengthening Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) by providing resources such as business mentoring, accelerator programs, and access to capital. Investment education initiatives should improve financial literacy and awareness of REIT investments to foster economic growth within underserved communities.
To qualify, applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits with a minimum of five years of operational history, a stable financial position, and a commitment to serving underserved, underrepresented, or low-income populations. Additionally, no more than 20% of the grant funds may go toward administrative costs, and capital projects are not eligible for funding.
Grant awards can reach up to $100,000, depending on project scope, budget, and readiness, though exact funding amounts may vary.
