The Supporting Sponsorships program, administered by the City of Klamath Falls, is a funding initiative that reflects the City’s commitment to sustained community engagement through cultural and recurring public programming. Unlike one-time event support, this grant is structured to provide financial sponsorships to nonprofit organizations that host multiple or ongoing cultural events, strengthening the city’s cultural ecosystem and enhancing the vibrancy of life within city limits.
This program targets nonprofit organizations that are physically located within the City of Klamath Falls and whose operations involve organizing cultural or similarly structured events. A key requirement is that the organization must serve the Klamath Falls community through more than a single event—indicating sustained programming or repeated engagements. The grant aims to recognize and reinforce the role these organizations play as long-term community partners.
Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations physically based within city limits. Geographic location is a hard eligibility criterion; entities operating outside of city boundaries are not eligible, regardless of the events’ reach or benefit. Additionally, no in-kind funding requests will be considered, and the financial award is capped at $10,000 per organization, with each organization eligible to receive only one sponsorship per calendar year.
Applications must be submitted to the Office of the City Manager using the Community Initiative/Event/Sponsorship Funding Application. The deadline for the current cycle is March 1, 2026. Funding will become available starting July 1, 2026. As part of the review process, qualifying applicants may be invited to give a 5–10-minute presentation to the City Council during a designated Work Session. The City will determine this presentation date once applications have been assessed.
As with other programs under the City’s grant portfolio, Supporting Sponsorships are reviewed for alignment with civic priorities and measurable community impact. The City anticipates continued support for this sponsorship model in future cycles, reinforcing its commitment to culture, civic engagement, and organizational partnerships that extend beyond one-off events.
