2025 Audubon Wildlife Fund Grants

The Audubon Wildlife Fund Grants, sponsored by Montana Audubon, provide funding for research and education projects that promote wildlife habitat conservation in Montana. The program has supported such efforts for over 25 years, leveraging earnings from the Audubon Wildlife Fund of Montana, a permanent endowment. Applications for the 2025 grant cycle are now open, with submissions due by January 15, 2025. Grants are available to individuals or nonprofit organizations whose projects directly benefit Montana’s wildlife. Eligible expenses include mileage, supplies, school or nonprofit equipment, printing, and communications. However, funds may not be used for salaries, stipends, per diem, or personal equipment. Preference is given to projects focusing on nongame wildlife, such as birds and invertebrates, and their habitats. The program particularly encourages proposals that demonstrate research, educational, or recreational value and prioritizes small nonprofit organizations, research initiatives, and graduate students. Proposals will be reviewed and scored by a committee appointed by the Montana Audubon Board of Directors. Successful applicants must submit a brief project report detailing the status and use of funds by October 1, 2025. Grant winners will be announced in March 2025. Applicants are encouraged to highlight the significance and impact of their proposed projects within the conservation and appreciation of Montana’s wildlife and natural communities.
