The $500 Teacher Grant, provided by the California Credit Union Foundation, aims to support innovative learning opportunities for students and classroom programs. This grant is designed to help teachers fund creative and impactful educational projects that enhance student learning experiences. Since the program's inception in 2012, over $205,000 has been awarded to schools across Los Angeles and San Diego Counties, with past recipients utilizing funds for subjects like physical education, robotics, biotechnology, environmental science, and history.
For the 2025 grant cycle, a total of 20 grants of $500 each will be awarded. These grants are distributed evenly between two regions:
10 grants for teachers in Los Angeles, Ventura, San Bernardino, and Orange Counties
10 grants for teachers in San Diego and Riverside Counties
Teachers from these counties, as well as California Credit Union members who are educators anywhere in California, are eligible to apply. However, employees, volunteers, subsidiaries, and family members of California Credit Union and North Island Credit Union are not eligible.
The application deadline is March 28, 2025. Interested educators must submit their applications through the designated regional portals available on the California Credit Union website. This opportunity supports teachers by funding innovative and creative classroom projects that might not otherwise receive financial support.
