Grant Description

The Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville is offering the Vector Wealth Strategies Funds, a grant program designed to support various charitable initiatives within Madison County, Alabama. This program aligns with the Foundation's broader mission to foster community well-being by addressing critical needs through strategic funding. The grants, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, are open to 501(c)3 public charities, schools, religious institutions, and government agencies, with a preference for organizations serving Madison County. The Vector Wealth Strategies Community Impact Fund targets focus areas such as Disaster Relief, Education, Health Services, and Human Services. Concurrently, the Vector CARES (Charitable Associates Recognizing Extraordinary Service) fund specifically addresses Homelessness. The target beneficiaries are individuals and communities impacted by these issues, with the overarching goal of effecting systematic change and improving daily lives. The program's priorities emphasize several key aspects. "Impact" assesses whether an organization's efforts focus on solving problems and creating systematic change. "Inspiration" evaluates the promotion of community involvement and volunteerism. "Capacity" examines if the organization has sufficient scale to accomplish the program's scope, while "Funding/Schedule" checks for a detailed budget and reasonable timeline. For homelessness initiatives, "Systemic Impact" specifically looks for efforts to bring people off the streets. Expected outcomes include addressing community challenges in the designated focus areas and fostering a more engaged and supported community. Measurable results are implied through the "Impact" and "Systemic Impact" priorities, which seek tangible problem-solving and systematic change. The Foundation's strategic priorities are evident in its focus on these areas and its commitment to funding established organizations with the capacity for meaningful work. The theory of change suggests that by supporting organizations with clear impact goals, strong community involvement, adequate capacity, and sound financial planning, the Foundation can contribute to lasting positive change in Madison County. Organizations receiving a grant from the Vector Wealth Strategies Community Impact Fund are ineligible for grants in the subsequent three rounds.
