Grant Description

The Rémy Martin This is My City Grant Program is a national microgrant initiative created in partnership with Hello Alice to support emerging creatives who are advancing cultural and economic change in their communities. Rémy Martin, known for its deep commitment to cultural heritage and community engagement, first launched the initiative in select cities—Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, and New York City. Building on that success, the program has expanded nationwide, underscoring Rémy Martin’s ongoing investment in supporting grassroots entrepreneurship and honoring visionary leaders making a local impact through art, music, design, and related cultural expressions. The program targets emerging creatives, including artists, DJs, musicians, designers, fashion professionals, radio personalities, and community space operators. It seeks applicants who are actively fostering community development and catalyzing opportunities in their local environments through cultural expression and entrepreneurship. The core objective of the grant is to spotlight and invest in individuals driving meaningful social and economic change via their creative work, particularly those leveraging their craft to create communal platforms, inspire local action, or support the next generation of creative talent. One selected recipient will receive a $20,000 grant award, along with personalized mentorship from established industry experts. The funding is intended to expand the awardee’s community impact, and the mentorship aims to offer strategic insights, networking opportunities, and skill development. Although the announcement does not specify eligible spending categories, the clear intent is to empower awardees to further their mission-driven creative enterprises, with the understanding that funds be used in support of activities that enhance community and cultural development. Eligibility is limited to small business owners who serve as the primary executive (e.g., Founder, CEO, President, COO, or CFO) of a for-profit business located within the United States or Washington, D.C. Applicants must also be at least 21 years old. This program is intended to support community-focused entrepreneurs in the creative sector, and full eligibility criteria can be accessed through the program’s Terms and Conditions on Hello Alice’s platform. Applications open on June 24, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. ET and will close on July 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. ET. Submissions will be reviewed by a committee using criteria outlined in the Terms and Conditions, and notifications of acceptance will be sent on or around August 18, 2025. The funders encourage all eligible applicants to apply during the open period through Hello Alice’s platform. The program has a history of supporting impactful creatives, with past recipients including Tionne Barmer (Blacklist NYC, Brooklyn), DJ Lady D (Darlene Jackson, Chicago), Oshun Williams (Mitten Made Originals LLC, Detroit), and Sheoyki Jones (Social Xurrency LLC, Atlanta). These leaders used their grants to expand local cultural initiatives and deepen their engagement with community-building efforts. By scaling the program nationwide, Rémy Martin continues to celebrate and invest in visionary local entrepreneurship across the United States.
